Dear Wife,
When I wrote you last night, I expected to stay here some time but word came last night at midnight to start this morning. I don’t know where we are to go but think we’ll go to Frederick City1. You can direct your letters to Co. I, 20th Regt. via of Washington. I am feeling pretty well this morning.
I have no time to write more.
Your affectionate husband,
C. A. Burleigh

Cecil’s guess is correct. The 20th Connecticut was ordered to proceed by rail to Fredrick, Maryland, and report to General McClellan. ↩
